Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 25, 2026
Overview
AtlasOS is an open-source project that modifies Windows to improve performance, privacy, and usability. We are committed to minimizing data collection and being transparent about any data we do process. This policy covers the AtlasOS website (atlasos.net) and its associated services.
Website Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service that does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track users across websites. Plausible collects only aggregate, anonymized usage data such as page views, referral sources, browser type, and country-level location. No individual visitor can be identified. Our analytics data is publicly accessible and fully transparent.
AI Documentation Assistant
Our documentation pages include an AI-powered assistant provided by Kapa.ai. If you choose to interact with this widget, your queries are sent to Kapa.ai for processing. Please refer to Kapa.ai's privacy policy for details on how they handle this data. Use of the assistant is entirely optional.
Microsoft ISO Downloads
Our documentation includes a tool that helps users download official Windows ISO files directly from Microsoft. When you use this tool, requests are proxied through our servers to Microsoft's download infrastructure. We do not log, store, or inspect any personally identifiable information from these requests. Download links are cached temporarily (up to 24 hours) to improve performance, but no user data is included in the cache.
Cookies
This website does not set any first-party cookies. Third-party services loaded on the site (Plausible Analytics and Kapa.ai) are selected specifically because they do not rely on cookies for tracking. No advertising or marketing cookies are used.
Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect personal information such as names, email addresses, or IP addresses through the website.
- We do not use cookies or local storage for tracking purposes.
- We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties for advertising or marketing.
- We do not fingerprint browsers or devices.
AtlasOS Software
AtlasOS itself is an open-source modification applied to your local Windows installation. It runs entirely on your machine. The AtlasOS playbook and configuration tools do not phone home, collect telemetry, or transmit any data to our servers. All source code is publicly available for review on GitHub.
Hosting & Security
This website is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process limited technical data (such as IP addresses) as part of delivering the website and providing DDoS protection. Please refer to Cloudflare's privacy policy for details. We enforce HTTPS, strict content security policies, and other security headers to protect your browsing experience.
Children's Privacy
This website is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Since we collect virtually no personal data, changes are expected to be infrequent and minor.
