Audio drivers

Audio drivers enable sound from speakers, headphones, or monitor. Most systems use onboard audio (Realtek, Intel, or AMD) on the motherboard. No sound after installing Atlas? Install audio drivers.

Finding your audio device

  1. Open Device Manager (press Win + X Enter or search in Start)
  2. Expand Sound, video and game controllers
  3. Note the name of your audio device (e.g., Realtek High Definition Audio, Intel Display Audio)

Installing from manufacturer website

Download audio drivers from your motherboard or device manufacturer’s support page.

  1. Search for “your motherboard model support” or “your laptop model drivers”
  2. Find the Audio or Sound driver section
  3. Download the latest driver
  4. Run the installer and follow the setup instructions
  5. Restart your computer if prompted

Can't Find Drivers?

Search for your audio device name (from Device Manager) plus “driver”. Realtek drivers are often on motherboard manufacturer support pages.

HDMI/DisplayPort audio

If you use audio from your monitor (e.g., built-in speakers), the driver may be included with your graphics drivers. For NVIDIA and AMD, install HDMI/DisplayPort audio components during GPU driver setup.

Troubleshooting

  • No sound: Verify the correct playback device is selected (right-click speaker icon in taskbar Open sound settings Choose output device).
  • Driver won’t install: Run the installer as administrator (right-click Run as administrator).
  • Still no sound: Try Snappy Driver Installer Origin as a backup, select only your audio driver.
