Chipset drivers
Chipset drivers improve stability and performance. They help your CPU communicate with RAM, storage, and USB devices. Install them if you’re not getting expected performance or have a newer CPU.
Finding your motherboard model
- Download HWiNFO
- Open the application and click Start to view your motherboard model and other system information
Installing from manufacturer website
Download chipset drivers from your motherboard manufacturer’s support page—they are tested for your model.
- Search for “your motherboard model support” to find the manufacturer’s support page
- Find and download the chipset driver
- Run the installer and follow the setup instructions
Can't Find Manufacturer Drivers?
If you can’t find chipset drivers from your motherboard manufacturer, use the generic chipset from your CPU manufacturer below.

AMD
- Visit TechPowerUp’s AMD Chipset and click the download button
- Or use AMD’s Official Website, though TechPowerUp is simpler
- Run the installer and complete the installation process
- Restart your computer if prompted
Intel
- Visit Intel’s Official Website and click the download button
- Run the installer and complete the installation process
- Restart your computer if prompted
Next steps
After installing chipset drivers:
- Install other drivers - Bluetooth, printers, etc. if needed
- Optimize hardware (optional) - Enable XMP/DOCP and Resizable BAR for better performance
